Artist Douglas Iljuwaas Yates is Tsimshian and Haida of the Killer Whale Clan from Metlakatla and Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska.
He is renown for his hand-engraved copper clan crest arts and prints since 2006. He is a great great great grandson of renown Diarist, Clah Arthur Wellington, 1831-1916, Tsimshian Nisga'a. Clah documented in English language the first encounters of his people with colonialism and is shared in the book "The Many Voyages of Arthur Wellington Clah." A traditional Native flutist, his instrumental flute album "Touch the Clouds" is available on iTunes. He and his wife Gloria and family reside in Alaska.
